apcupsd (UPS Management Software).

Mon Dec 24, 2012 9:48 am

Hello,

I was searching for a substitution for APC PowerChute software for raspberry pi to manage my APC Back-UPS ES 500. apcupsd works well.

Install and configure instruction below,

Install apcupsd

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install apcupsd
In /etc/default/apcupsd chane 'ISCONFIGURED=no' to 'ISCONFIGURED=yes'

Code: Select all

sudo nano /etc/default/apcupsd
Edit /etc/apcupsd/apcupsd.conf

Code: Select all

sudo nano /etc/apcupsd/apcupsd.conf
Change the values as below,

Code: Select all

UPSNAME myups
UPSCABLE usb
UPSTYPE usb
Restart apcupsd

Code: Select all

sudo apcupsd restart
Check UPS status,

Code: Select all

apcaccess status
If you like a web interface where you can check UPS status, install apcupsd-cgi. Note: You need to have apache2 installed and running.

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install apcupsd-cgi
Edit /etc/apache2/apache2.conf and add line 'ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ /usr/lib/cgi-bin/' to it

Code: Select all

sudo nano /etc/apache2/apache2.conf
Restart apache2

Code: Select all

sudo service apache2 restart
You can check the status at http://YOUR_SERVER_IP/cgi-bin/apcupsd/multimon.cgi
