Have you checked that the ssh demon is running on the pi?

To do this open a terminal on the pi and enter the following at the command prompt:

Code: Select all

ps aux | grep ssh
and you should see something like this:

Code: Select all

root 544 0.0 0.1 10724 5376 ? Ss 16:33 0:00 /usr/sbin/sshd -D
chris 951 0.0 0.0 4520 288 ? Ss 16:33 0:00 /usr/bin/ssh-agent x-session-manager
chris 993 0.0 0.0 4520 288 ? Ss 16:33 0:00 /usr/bin/ssh-agent -s
chris 12366 0.0 0.0 7348 540 pts/0 S+ 18:21 0:00 grep --color=auto ssh

Does that mean you can't see your password being echoed as you login? That is normal.
