Re: RS and Allied Update #6

When I got my confirmation email it was clearly stated:
Once your order has been dispatched you will receive a notification advice email from RS or our courier advising you of the shipment.
and I didn't got one. I don't know if they send it but if they don't, they shouldn't be adding this sentence in the email. It adds up to the confusion.

It was a private order BTW.

Same situation here: I received my RPi today, but no shipping notification by e-mail (but that's still better than the opposite situation  ). For those who care, I ordered the board on January 26th 2013, with order reference number 101023940x.

Rurwin:
Thank you very much for your response.

All:
For all out there I'll like to let you know I received a email notifing me my order was dispached today. So at least they are at order: 1010243807

By the way rurwin, I guess your calculation were not that bad after all.

Thanks.
I wondered if I had put too many disclaimers in that post. It appears I put too few.

I am not associated with RS, and my sole association with the Foundation is that I moderate the forum. I have no more information than anyone else here.

But on the basis of those order numbers, I'd say 1010237761 should have already shipped. It may be worth emailing RS etc. If I were you I would not continue to wait patiently.

The other order, 1010243807, is 3000 orders later than the latest order that this thread has mentioned as shipping. In this case, waiting patiently is probably the order of the day.

I received mine on Monday after a small delay (ordered on January 22, received on February 18). But I never had any tracking number or e-mail confirmation that it was shipped.

The answer I have given, when I have required tracking my order:
Good Afternoon,
We are dispatching orders via DHL MAIL which in turn uses your local Postal System, unfortunately we are not provided with any tracking details, so are unable to pass tracking information onto our customers.

Well, I guess that gives me hope that mine (order 1010243705) was dispatched at around the same time. If it has then it would have been nice to get a dispatch notification...

Thought I would come back and check for an update. Absolutely nothing has happened, no replies to any emails and certainly no delivery. Coming up on 7 months now

order reference number is: 119836
Date of order Fri, 29 Jun 2012, 05:18 PM
Your order number 65838db5b70311e181820050568e196b

First post here and unfortunately it's not a good one,

Ordered mine (and paid for) on 29th June 2012 (yes in 12 days time that is bang on half a year ago)

I've sent RS an email the week before christmas (no reply) and sending another one tonight. Seriously pissed off to be honest, especially since it seems other people are getting december orders now.

Just wanted to bitch and moan a bit, I'm in Australia so realise things might take a little longer, but seriously I could have walked to the UK by now. Hurry the F up

Hi

I ordered from RS, 21 jan 2013, after 4 weeks of waiting i cancelled the order, and then imideatly got a mail that it could not be cancelled as it was scheduled for dispatch. But i never got a mail about dispatch as the order confirmation said would arrive 5 days prior to shipment. Next day it arrived with me in Denmark sent out of Germany. my order number was 1010237114

So it would seem that RS will push your order up for dispatch rather than loose it upon cancelation!

The only problem is that the model I got was clearly used. It has blue pencil notes written on both sides and is really sticky, touching it leaves clearly marked fingerprints in the sticky areas. I seems as if it has been lying in a softdrink and also smells 'sweet' when it gets hot. So not too happy about that 'feature'.

I complained to RS that replied I can ship it back, but I dont dare as I may have to wait indefinatly for the replacement, so i´ll keep it as it work as intended.

Finally received Pi and accessories on Wednesday 20Feb13, I never received a dispatch email - only an email from RS after I emailed them querying the significant delay since ordering.

Well I have waited too long for some form of resolution
so yesterday I initiated a paypal refund request only to
receive a email as follows...

"Good Afternoon,
We have received your order, once your order is dispatch you will receive a confirmation email.
Kind Regards
Raspberry Pi"

Strange choice of wording as I requested a replacement for a faulty Pi
as opposed to placing a order. It sounds to me like someone is simply sending
out pre formatted emails without even looking at the details.

Just mailed them back to inform them of the refund request
so we will see how long it takes to get my refund so I can
buy elsewhere.

My pi arrived in the same state yours did with a sticky waxy coating and a fine solder splatter all over the board. the SD card pins were pressed flat to the point where they did not make contact with the SD card.
the PI ran for a few minutes before it became RIP.
it was replaced and the new units QC was 10000 X better, board was clean and is still running

Here is my story:
I ordered on August 17th with reference number 10101783**. The expected dispatch was within 15 weeks. After I did not get any Raspberries or information, I decided to write to rs in January 2013.
The reply took two days. They told me, that some customers experienced dispatch problems, so in English they forgot my order. Fine. They asked if I wanted the money back, or if I am in need of a re-dispatch via DHL-Express.
I decided for the re-dispatch.
The kind answer was, that my Raspberries will be dispatched asap, and I am going to receive a re-dispatch information.
After two weeks of silence, I decided two ask for the status of the re-dispatch.
This time the reply was instantly. "After investigating into the status of re-dispatch, I can see that your expected shipping date is 14th February. You will receive a dispatch-confirmation email." Fine.
I did not get any information on my re-dispatch, as assumed.
So I decided to ask for my status on Monday. I did not get any reply.
I am really irritated.
Will my Raspberries be dispatched, although I did not get any dispatch-information?
I wrote a very clear email and I will send it to rs on Monday. Do you think this will help?
I read that some of you did not get a shipping-confirmation. Should I wait one more week? I am really annoyed by rs, and irritated, because I never experienced any problem with them before.
My order is a consumer order.

Kind Regards

I ordered mi Rasp Pi on february 7, and after reading the posts here I panicked so I wrote an email to RS, Here's the Reply
Good afternoon,

If you do not receive your order within this time frame please email and we will investigate.

Thank you for your continued patience.

Still waiting, so I sent another email to find out if mine was actually sent, because I had tried to cancel it around the same time it was allegedly being despatched, almost 2 weeks ago.
Seems like a pretty bad courier if it takes 2 weeks to send something from the UK. I have usually gotten things sent out from the UK by standard post and the longest that took was 5 working days, sometimes it only took 3.
Now to see if the RPi turns up before they answer my email.

Well, I'm impressed. Less than 12 hours and I got a reply to my email.
Your order 1010237678 was despatched on 14/02/13 Feedback from customers in Australia is that they are taking delivery of their orders up to 21 working days after despatch.
Now, the one thing I would have to question is the "feedback" they are apparently receiving. When was the last time anyone ordered something, then when they received it contacted the company and said "that only took (x) days to arrive"
Sounds more like "don't bug us with any more emails for 21 days and hopefully it will turn up by then"

than automated regarding my refund request.

Paypal says I have to wait until the 5th of march and if
they haven't replied paypal will make a decision.

I received mine just today (in France).
Order #1010245217 from 06/02/2013, at the time they claimed 2 weeks before dispatch, so that means they were in line.
Didn't get a dispatch notification.
Arrived in excellent packaging and condition.

Very satisfied.

Now to set it up =)
