Has anybody managed to get this to install on the Pi yet?
I tried last night and after 30+ mins of downloading and unpacking, it started throwing up errors about lack of storage space, so I aborted the install.
How much space does it need? I was installing on an 8GB card.
I'm not really bothered about using it on the PI as I have it on my PC - I just wanted to see how usable it is.

It works fine on the 256 ram pi the only problem is in the slideshow stuff, slide transitions are slow and blocky. So i dont recommend using them. But other than that i think we are onto a winner

I didn't get LibreOffice from the Pi Store, but I can confirm that Writer and Calc work well as alternatives to MS Word and Excel (other alternatives are AbiWord and Gnumeric). Impress is very slow though on the Pi for trying to create slides (and play them back - see above), however this is likely to improve once hardware-accelerated X drivers are available.

What size SD card are you using? I needed to up to an 8gb just to install it :/

LibreOffice from Pi Store works well for me and I have only a 4GB SD-card. I have some old OpenOffice Calc macros for educational use that also works well on Raspberry Pi: http://ooo.orbin.se/.

Actually it is not possible to install on the Raspberry Pi, the Pi is hardware.

You are correct, but this is just semantics of the English language. Cut them some slack hey?

Well it may be semantics, but the Raspberry Pi is mature enough and well known that people should be educated that saying can I install software on a Pi is incorrect. If one recommends software and the OP bleats it is not available then it looks bad

Maybe one should assume that Raspbian Wheezy HF is being used and answer accordingly and after chasing several posts find he is talking about Fedora or RiscOS,.

I still feel that at the top of the posting should be an Operating System Field to be filled in if they have a distro installed what the question refers to.
