Hi,
RPI4 doesn`t support VP9 vídeo files above 1080p?
I tested under Libreelec and Raspberry OS.

The Pi doesn't do VP9 decoding in hardware AFAIK. 1080p VP9 in LibreElec seems to hog 100% of a CPU core and lags badly. 1080p avc1 uses under 20% of a core and runs perfectly, but I think 1080p is the max resolution for hardware decoding that.

The Pi4 does support HEVC decoding in hardware up to 4K, but I don't think youtube streams that codec. So I'm not sure what the answer is (if there is one) for 4k youtube playback.

Yes, up to 1080p no problem if it's 4k hangs…
I had also noticed that there is always a full load core and the others 3 don't.
Future optimization of cpu will be fixed?

Seems unlikely, like I said there's no hardware decoder in the Rpi4 that's capable of VP9, so it's always going to be done on the CPU. Though I think it could work better if it were multithreaded, instead of only using one core. That's going to come down to whatever software decoder (ffmpeg?) is being used, and isn't really a RPi specific thing.
