Something like this Multiplier Technology might be useful in several ways:

1. Have one Raspberry Pi that is used by 2 or more people through a special wireless usb adapter that is designed to stream video and control directly to and from it.

2. Perhaps link the Raspberry Pi to a central server once again with a special wireless usb adapter that is designed to stream video and control directly to and from it. This would make it so you can link computers with no separate internet router needed.

3. Split screen a Raspberry Pi to use one large screen for 2 virtual computers.

Start XDM/GDM on a server to accept remote XDCMP connections and on the RPis on the network do "xorg -direct <servername>"

I don't think there's any point splitting a Pi between two users - it'd be easier and probably cheaper to buy another Pi.

Using a Pi as a thin client (for a shared machine running LTSP for example) could be very useful. There's no need for any 'special wireless USB adapter,' it can all be done through standard networking.
