There is an artificial stupidity snooping all the posts and blocking things apparently.

Who know what words or phrases might send it off into a tantrum. Or maybe it did not like the look of your IP address.

Don't think its my IP as it let me post a new thread ( this one ) and a simple reply of " test " to the tread I wanted to post to,

rebooted my pc just in case there was a problem with my browser going to try again with the reply I wanted to make.

So after some more testing I can post simple text but any attempt to post code even a simple print statement in code tags results in the post being blocked with the above error.

yet it works ok in this thread

Code: Select all

print ("test")

Edit ...

So I finally got it to post all I changed was was all references to phValue to phvalue in the code :?

They've looked into it and reduced the sensitivity on the check that triggers this to reduce false positives.

At some point, the check will be no longer necessary.
I can't figure what you mean by that.

Presumably you are not expecting SPAMMERs and other garbage stop arriving soon.

Thanks ShiftPlusOne

May be I did not need to change the variable name after all , guess they changed things while I was attempting to post.

We have various firewall rulesets in place because, well, this is a forum and they're historically not the most secure pieces of software :|

The relevant rules have been tweaked.

Sorry for the faff, as ever with these things there are going to be false-positives when attempting to prevent the possible actions of a malicious minority.

Removed that comment to avoid confusion, although that will probably only add to it.

Why would the variable name phValue be off limits but phvalue fine?

Is there a well-known malware that measures hydrogen-ion concentrations?

Was the filtering the result of a more general 🐪-case detector?

That was the only change I made to the code I was posting , but it could be that changes to the filter happened while I was changing the code and the variable name change had nothing to do with it.

Guess we will never know.

I was blocked also this afternoon. In that case it looked like including the full system path to the SSH daemon's configuration file inside a comment triggered the false positive. Cloudflare is undesirable, IMHO.
