Locked topic question?

Sat Sep 14, 2019 7:55 pm

Two years ago I made a post that nobody was interested at the time but a few days ago somebody was. But before I could respond the thread was locked and since there is no way that I know of to send a note to the locker I couldn't request it be unlocked. And maybe it can't be I don't know. I follow my posts and will usually respond even to an old one because I know how hard it can be sometimes to find up to date information. It is probably a moot point by now because it has been several days since the post. So is there a place to request that a thread be unlocked?

Do you have a link to the topic?

You can request an unlock by reporting your own post.

The problem with responses to excessively old posts (and there are a lot of different opinions about how old is excessive) is that the problem may no longer exist (newer software or hardware), have been resolved (but the OP never said anything about that), or it's just no longer an issue.

Posting to an old thread is called "necroing" a thread.

As a result of all this, it is common for necro posts to be reported and--often--locked as a result.

Thanks very much for the reply and the unlocking. I posted a follow up and you can lock it again if you wish.

Thanks,
