Power switch for new project

Sun Jun 30, 2019 10:59 pm

I am wondering if I might get some input on my little project I am working on. I got a Lite Bright for one dollar at my local Goodwill and was wondering if I can use it's existing button to power my pi on an off by simply placing it in the middle of an official power supply. Hopefully my imgur link works so you can see what I am talking about. Thanks.

You could but I wouldn't recommend it.

Cutting the power to a running Pi results in an impropper shutdown which overtime will lead to SD card corruption and failure.
