how long will it take for the Raspberry Pi 4 to be available everywhere?

Tue Jun 25, 2019 7:02 pm

how long will it take for the Raspberry Pi 4 to be available everywhere? Similar to the Raspberry 3, when does every dealer have it? When is the quantity of Pi large and when is it established, so to speak? BR

(4 GB ram ;) )

It's supply and demand. There is no way to predict that accurately.

At the moment, what you are seeing is the entirely predictable surge in initial orders cleaning out the supply. As the "early adopters" get their boards, the supply pipeline will fill up and availability will improve.

If you're anxious to get a Pi4B as soon as possible, try ordering from one of the UK suppliers as they (being closest to the manufacturing site) tend to get them first and fastest.

Does the BR indicate that you are in Brasil?
The import restrictions there are mind boggling! I suspect you will be waiting a while.

On the other hand, your Pi 3Bs have an unusual blue PCB.
Are they manufactured in Brasil?

Edit. Ahh probably not, since you are most active on the German forum!

I thought you could shorten "best regards" to "BR."

I estimate that it should be available fairly well starting with October / November.

Then let's see what Christmas will bring with it.

Since that has come up, yes, the RPF/RPT arranged for a Brazilian manufacturer to supply that market because of the extremely high import duties that would otherwise apply. I haven't heard if they are making Pi4Bs, but it wouldn't surprise me to be told that they are.

filipeflop, the official distributor of pi's in Brazil, are selling pi 3B+ at a reasonable price. just hope when 4B arrive, arrive at a decent price.

some sellers in mercadolivre (Brazil equivalent of eBay) are doing a "pre-sale" of 4B, but costing twice the pi 3B+ price.

When I purchased a RPI 3B+ starter kit that was a complete coincidence, because the kit was on sale, and I was not expecting much from the RPI computer either, after being more familiar with the computer for at least 6 months, now the RPI computer acts similar to a home PC, email client, internet browser, some open source games, YouTube, etc., I build some of my own programs for better performance reasons, difficult to remember how I build programs though.

Anyhow people should buy the RPI computer when the RPI starter kits are on sale on any trusted website which should be around $65 - $70, people should purchase the starter kits instead of purchasing only the board, because if you don't have the RPI case, then you will leave this computer board on a random box sliding everywhere or have to cut holes out of a container, people should buy larger capacity SD cards 16 gb is not enough, or if you don't have the power supply, then how will you power the board, supply and demand is more than computer parts, accessories are equally important.

R$262.90 or £53!
Nice blue board though. I was going to buy one when I was there but the price was just too much.

I wonder if the price shows the cost of lower volume manufacturing in Brazil or if profit margins are bigger there too.

Brazil has completely mad import tariffs for computer equipment. Even making them in Brazil has major problems.

From what has been reported, it's going to be a while. In the meantime, any projects you have that could really benefit from a Pi4B will have to be shelved for an extended and unknown period of time. If you use the official PSU--which is quite inexpensive--there is no problem with the USB-C wiring.
