The USB-C charger looks very promising, but does it coil whine?

Mon Jun 24, 2019 1:37 pm

For the price, the new 8 € USB-C Charger looks very promising even for charging phones. Most other aftermarket chargers go for about 15 € on Amazon.

My primary concern is if the charger produces any coil whine noises, because at night every high pitched sound is very audible where I sleep.
For example, I had to swap my 3B+ for the regular old 3B because the newer model coil whined too much. :(

So, I know it's a bit early and probably no one has received the charger yet, but can anyone give some input on this when you receive the product?

Thanks!

Unscientific, but trying a UK spec one my colleague could not hear anything from about 30cm away. But we are in an office, albeit quite a quiet one right now.

I too haven't noticed any noise from the PSU form the samples I tested.
