Using Google Assistant to run Shell/Python Commands

Fri May 17, 2019 2:01 pm

After tinkering for a day I finally got Google Assistant running on my Pi. Earlier I asked about some bugs I had but those have seemingly been fixed. I even figured out how to automate the script on startup (yay).

As you can probably tell, I'm pretty new. But I'm trying to learn.

So is there any way to run linux commands or python scripts with google assistant? Currently I'm using the googlesamples-assistant-hotword command to run my program. Is there a better version that i should be using?

I've used IFTTT before but Im looking for something that lets me run my own custom commands. Ive searched on the internet but I cant seem to find anything.

Thank you
