You’re more likely to find someone willing to guide you through the steps of burning the image yourself than swap a good working card for a blank we know nothing about.

Nextcloudpi is pretty simple to set up, and if you can't burn the image yourself and follow the setup i'm doubting you will be able to give yourself access to your nextcloud once you plug in an sd card someone burns for you and power up your pi. Besides, you are risking some pretty serious security issues by doing so.

hi. Thanks for responding. I'm asking in desperation really... I don't seem to be able to flash the image successfully at all. I've tried lots of times, in different ways, on different hardware. I only bought the pi for nextcloud... I feel like, I've wasted money at the moment.

What are you using to make the card and where did you download the image from?

Most folk here use the program called Etcher from https://www.balena.io/etcher/ - how big is the card and is it a real one?

I've got a 16GB SanDisk EDIT: New from Argos, and only used for this purpose. It could be factory faulty I suppose, but not highly likely to be.

I Torrented both the January and the March images of nextcloudpi from the ownyourbits website.
I've tried Etcher on both Ubuntu 17.10 and Windows 10, and I've also tried Disks on Ubuntu.

I got furthest with the January image, but it wouldn't update.

I seem to get a partition problem using Etcher.

The partition problem points to a faulty SD card.

I would first test it with something like https://sosfakeflash.wordpress.com/2008 ... it-drives/

Is your card reader suitable for 16Gb cards? It needs to be SDHC capable.

I used a built in SD card slot on the Windows 10 laptop, and a SanDisk USB/SD thing with Ubuntu.

Etcher says it's flashed properly.....

So if you boot the Pi what do you get?

Go to the command line and run

Code: Select all

sudo raspi-config

Take advanced options and expand file system

I think then you exit to get it to do this as a reboot or may give you the option there and then.

Did you put an empty file called ssh in the boot folder after using Etcher? https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentati ... /README.md

If not SSH is disabled and the simplest way is to put in a keyboard / mouse and log on that way or pop the card back into your other computer and follow step three of the above link.
