Not sure what was in the post but usual reasons are:

• Duplicate
  Against forum rules
  Spam.

Not sure which was the cause here.

Thanks James, it might of been for a duplicate post. But the first post, that one is still live was regarding a query and the second post was posted after I'd resolved the issue and I'd posted my 'HowTo'.

If you solved an issue it is Netiquitte to mark the post as solved and explained how it was solved..........

I can confirm that the post was deleted as a duplicate, duplicates will always be deleted without warning, an assessment will be made which copy to delete, but yeah, the wrong choice in the OP's view can be made. If a post is marked as [solved], then that can affect the choice.
unless posts are actually locked they are always "live", in 99.9% the time that is the case for both copies.

I'm assuming it's not possible to get the post back and I'd have to repost the 'Howto'?
