My name is Shaurya and I am 13 years old. I am relatively new to the Raspberry pi 3. I learn music, so I wanted to create something musical, something like a drum kit. I already have a synthesizer, so I was pretty bored with the peaceful and calm music I played. I looked up several posts, and found that a simple drum kit can be made by using piezoelectric sensors and the Raspberry pi. I also found out that because the pi doesn't have any analog input pins, it would be very difficult to make it read the sensor values. But, I found that an ADC can be used to do this.
I bought an ADC from amazon, (ADC0808 board from www.silicontechnolabs.in) and had not considered buying one from Adafruit.com, which would have been very easy to use. Now, I am stuck with the project. I don't know how to use this ADC board with the Raspberry pi to read the sensors. I also don't know how to program using python, but I know Scratch.
The ADC board has 8 inputs and 8 outputs.
It also has ALE, START, EOC, OE, ADDA, ADDB, & ADDC pins.
If anyone can help me, please do...
I'm stuck on this project for a while.
