SSD success story

Sun Feb 24, 2019 10:50 am

In times of cheap SSDs it's good that the Raspberry can boot from USB.

My Raspi has been running fine now for three weeks 7/24 an WD Green PC SSD WDS2 40G2G0A-00JH30 attached by an SATA USB3 Adapter with one USB cable (https://www.amazon.de/dp/B06XCV1W97)

The Raspi first would not boot and display only a blank screen. You have to enlarge the USB timeout:

program_usb_boot_timeout=1
in config.txt

I used an $18, 120gb SSD from Inland (the Microcenter house brand).

Worked perfectly out of the box.
