I'd just like to take this opportunity to publicly thank everybody who has helped to make this wonderful project come to fruition.
There are those who have expended considerable intellectual effort, considerable time, and considerable money to develop what on the face of it was an impossible dream and turn it into not just a real piece of hardware, but what looks like becoming a movement...
You've helped drive a realisation that layer upon layer of software upon ever more powerful machines isn't the only way to get things done.
Thank you all - you're amazing.

+1. Which I know how to do now, thanks to the spam blocker

Hear Hear!
Re: A vote of thanks...
And thank you to all you good people out there, without whom this would not happen.
You are the people who bring creativity, excitement, enthusiasm, patience and your special areas of knowledge to our small enabling step.
This is just the start of a journey that we hope you will share with us. There is still a huge amount to do, that we look for your help with in software, documentation, user support, teaching materials, content, add-ons, self help guides and all the rest to allow, say, an after school club to work, or a woman in an African or south American shanty town to successfully engage.

+1 this is an amazing project. Don't mind the trolls.
Re: A vote of thanks...
I'm just a forum mod so I cannot accept thanks, but I can say that I concur and the foundation deserves a pat on the back. I will have to buy them a drink next time I'm on their side of the pond. Good work.

I'm more a lurker than a poster but I'm following this project from about October. I wish to thank all the people involved in the development al the forum staff for their commitment and their well manners.
I would never be able to make an embedded system like RasPi myself, so again, thank You guys to make this happen and give us users the chance to benefit from.

Like Judicator, I'm more a lurker than a poster, but I have to say, I haven't been as excited about this project since I purchased a Dragon 32 thirty odd years ago! Kid and sweet shop springs to mind.

Re: A vote of thanks...
+1 for finally getting me off my arse and starting to teach myself computer science.
Re: A vote of thanks...
+1 including the mods.
Re: A vote of thanks...
Thank you all I don't know where this will go over the time, but no matter what happens, there's one thing you achieved even before it's here: With your great work you encouraged us all to believe in you, in the product, in the vision behind it - and also in us that we will use it for everything useful (or useless) our imagination comes up with, to learn, maybe to teach others and to have fun. And I believe there are not few of us here who think this project could bring a change, could make the world a better one, even if it's only a little bit. And for that you truly deserve thanks. There are many projects out there, but seldom you'll find a community such enthusiastic, creative, and open, friendly and helpful to new people, to their ideas and questions, I think the community deserves thanks too. Oh, and a special thanks to the mods for having the patience to endure us.

+1 from me too.
