Tue Jan 15, 2019 2:58 pm

Hi guys, i've just bought a Raspberry PI 3 B+. The problem is, i dont' know what power supply i need.

I have 3 charger from my old and actual phones. what can i use from this three?

1) From Xiaomi MI 4: 5V 2A
2) From MI 8: 5V 2,5A/9V
3) Anker quickport+1: 3,6-6,5V 3A/6,5-9V

i think no one of this.

2 or 3 might work, bur save yourself trouble and pasin. Get the "official" RPi 5V1 2A5 supply, which is known to work well in almost all circumstances.

IMO the best Power Supply is the Official one:

ok i will buy the original charger.

But do you think is safe (for the PI), if i try it with one of these chargers to see if it works or not?

2 & 3 are within the specifications for the Pi3B+ (2.5 A or greater) and should work if they perform to specification. This is likely for these brands. The USB cable must high quality and the cable matters more than might be obvious.

The problems caused by substandard power supplies and cables are often intermittent so using questionable power components is generally not worth the potential hassle. You won't damage the Pi, but there is potential for corrupting the SD card and having to reflash it.

Probably, the higher voltage outputs should only be active if the device requests it, and the Pi won't (can't).

But I can't (won't) guarantee that!

The first one is safe and will probably power your RPI 3B+ OK if you have only a standard keyboard and mouse plugged in to the USB ports.

As others have suggested, get the official PSU (click the green BUY tag at the top of the page and scroll down to find it).

If you just want to try your new Pi out now, either of the first 2 on your list should work okay. The problem with some phone chargers is poor voltage regulation (phones don't need precise voltage control to charge). Also, if the charger uses a separate micro USB cable, the cable could be an additional problem (standard micro USB 2.0 cables aren't designed to deliver much more than 500mA without voltage loss). The cable that was included with the phone & charger should work better.

Thank you so much for the replies guys. I decided to take no chances with the phone chargers and order the original PSU from amazon, it will arrive tomorrow.

Withing the determinations for the Pi3B+ (2.5 An or more noteworthy) and should work on the off chance that they perform to particular. This is likely for these brands. The USB link should high calibre and the link matters more than may be self-evident.

The issues caused by substandard power supplies and links are regularly discontinuous so utilising sketchy power segments is commonly not worth the potential problem. You won't harm the Pi, however there is potential for tainting the SD card and having to re flash it.
