Send SCPI command to a RP 3B+ using VISA thought Ethernet

Sat Dec 22, 2018 7:58 pm

Hi,

I would like to send some basic SCPI command to my Rasberry Pi 3B+ using a VISA standard connection thought the Ethernet interface.

Could anybody tell me if this is possible since the ARM architecture is not supported by the ivi-visa/ni-visa standard consortium?

There is any way to install a visa-server driver into the Rasberry Pi and use it from a custom made application?

Any help would appreciated.

Hi,

I don't know if there is an implementation of a SCPI server running on Linux/ARM, but if I remember correctly, SCPI protocol is just plain ASCII commands.

You could then "just" write a TCP server in your preferred language that parses the string comming from a TCP socket and responds accordingly.
I found this post on Stackoverflow : https://stackoverflow.com/questions/481 ... -for-linux, which might be helpful.
