Raspberry Pi Forums

Today I got an alert email on a response to my over two years old thread about installing CVS on an RPi box.

But when I click on the links in the email I am getting to a login page at a location I don't recognize at all (I have stripped off the ending URL part):

Is this some kind of phishing attempt? Seems like that since it pops up a logon screen.

Normally if a link like this from the forum requires logon I would start a new tab and go to the general discussions forum (via a shortcut I have saved) and I will be logged on automatically. Then I would return to the previous tab and refresh and be logged in.
No so in this case!

Upon further inspection I see that the URL is a bit different from the normal forum URL, which should be:
viewforum.php?f=63

Is there some pirate operating on subdomain lb rather than www?

FYI here is what I found in the email headers:

Probably legit.

There was a thead recently about 'lb'. It is "load balancer".

No idea where the mail came from.

raspberrypi.org is of course legit.

lb.raspberrypi.org is the raspberrypi.org load balancer.

In that case why am I not logged on automatically? Really suspicious looking.

Because your credentials are not saved for that exact host name?

What he said. We use Mandrill at work for sending out general notification emails to customers instead of hammering our own email servers.

Please point the email links to the real forum URL:s instead of the other one!
