Anyone with advice and help would be appreciated or if you fancy a chat drop me a line :D
Look forward to hearing from you

Hi my name is Dan. I am a Husband and a Father who enjoys tinkering with new tech and learning something new to me. I have been following the story of the Pi for quite sometime and just recently bought my first Pi. I would like to use the Pi to teach my girls (9 and 5) some of the neat stuff they'll see while working, i.e. robotics and PLC Programming. I really wish something like this existed when I was a young child. I game a lot and the support for the Pi from the community for Retro (I hate that word as it makes me feel old.) Gaming is astonishing.

Pis, NUCs, chromecasts, androids. We need more toys.
Cheers from Canada.

My first computer ever was an old ZX Spectrum. Thats how it started, with POKES and PEEK to get unlimited ammo and lives :)

A Media Specialist and STEM Teacher in a tiny rural school in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina... I have a Library Sciences degree and an Instructional Tech degree - you would think I'd be past being stumped by tech, but no such luck. There is always more to learn, isn't there! Love my students and love what I do - for now...

Hi, I'm Mark from Leicestershire. I teach computing at a local school. I've been using Raspberry Pis for a while (I have an original one). I'm always looking for ways to engage my students and consider myself fortunate to be attending PiCademy soon to gain further experience and network with new people.

Good afternoon, I'm a network security student currently trying to break into the field and have been working on finding something interesting to do with my Raspberry Pi.

I like blue team far more than red team and hope to find a defensive or remediation solution for these devices. Currently trying to figure out the limits of the device.

I'm afraid I'm likely to ask some foolish or odd questions, but please be patient with me.

Thank you and have fun =)

Hi, my name is Julian but I go by PrinzJuliano since 2006 (release of Metin 2 / my first MMORPG)! I am into programming as much as I am into playing video games (newer ones on my Windows 10 PC and older ones using retroPI).

The only reason I bought a raspberry pi used to be game emulation of nes/snes/gba games (not going to much into detail there) but then I started programing on it and running some programs on it like git repos and small applications!

I'm an American Expat teacher usually, stay at home dad this year taking care of two small children in a small world town in Laos.

I've been playing around with R-pie on and off since 2012. At first was super excited to learn and explore. I got a motorola atrix lapdock and made a R-pie lap top, it's still going strong. Learned lots about computing and LINUX. I even briefly meet Liz & Eben at the 2012 NYC maker faire.

Then life got in the way. We mover over seas, had kids, and I was teaching out side my specialty. I never stoped learning and playing but the pass and scoped slowed.

Recently, Retro pi got me using my Pi M3 more and more. My original pi is now running SOMC and I am looking to get back into learning and doing more regularly.

I am Bryan See, currently working for my Masters programme at University Putra Malaysia in Serdang.

Interest in Raspberry Pi came in 2016 while coming up a design for a compact version of a currently expensive and heavy hyperspectral camera solution.

I have been on this forum for a while (almost a year) but I never posted (In matter of fact, I almost lost this account because I forgot its username). I had a pi since December 29, 2015. However, recently, I set it up (last week), and I love it. Anyways, I will probably post quite a bit.

I have a Raspberry Pi 2 Model B

So a few years ago my wife bought me a Raspberry Pi as a birthday present. Definitely a great and thoughtful gift for the likes of me, but I've been so busy at work that I've barely used it! I've signed up partly to see if being on here inspires me to make some time for it, and partly to find out if an original Model B is good for anything at all, or should I just quietly replace it with a Pi3 :D

I'm Kelsey, 40, from Lymm in North-West England.

I sell motorbike insurance by day. By night i dream of doing anything but.

I'm married and have 2 boys. Just ordered a Pi3 off the EBay. Initially it will be my emulation station and I'm hoping to fashion a retro style case for it at some point.

Looking forward to joining discussions after I've had a solid lurk.

Bill (the "Pi Man", because besides this I also love to bake) from New Jersey here.
I've had a Model B on a closet shelf for a couple of years because I didn't have the time or patience to get the wifi working, but I just picked up an Edimax nano dongle and now it's finally online. But I also picked up a 3B and a Zero W for good measure.

I've been reading blogs and forums all over, and while I find tons of brilliant, creative people, I'm not finding a lot of how-to guides in the mid-range - i.e., I'm not a seventh grader who needs animated cartoon instructions, but I also don't have a soldering iron permanently affixed to my hand. I hope to find some better quality walk-thrus and guides; or if not, I'll write them as I go.

I'm Will, 24, an Applications Engineer in Texas.

My journey with programming and electronics really started moving forward when I was 17. I started jailbreaking, unlocking, and repairing smartphones as a side job to pay the bills. 5 years and a million beers later, finished college with a degree in Electrical Engineering and started working in my current role as an Applications Engineer. I started using Raspberry Pi a few months ago when I started doing some freelance writing for a website called Circuit Basics.

Some code-compiling issues, and a desire for more Pi, has brought me to these forums.

Nice to meet y'all!
