Is this normal?

Alright, I promise this is not another "Where is my pi" topic, I understand it's going to take a longggg time.

I ordered from Allied on August 9, got a sales confirmation order email and nothing since then. I hear people talk about how they were given some sort of time frame, did this come in an email? I haven't received a word from the company aside from a ton of advertisements, I feel paranoid that I was forgotten or something.

Also the order number people reference in the tables... What is this exactly and where does it come from? In my sales confirmation email there's something called the "Web order number", it's a ten digit number, but in the tables i'm looking at all of the numbers are just six digits, was I supposed to get some other number or am I missing something?

Yes, that is normal for orders placed from Allied in the USA. Most of the order numbers that people are mentioning in this forum are for orders placed from the RS on their UK site. And the order tables posted thus far, only apply to UK site orders, not to customers of Allied in the US.

My order number is 2500237xxx, and I placed my order on July 23. At that time, either on the order page or my confirmation email, it gave an estimated shipping date of 12 weeks.

Since that time, I have received about one advertizing email from them a week, but no further emails about my order.

I do know that if you log in to your account at the AlliedElec site in the USA (this only applies to orders placed on that site), you can go to an order status page. That page, as I recall, only reflects the status of orders placed within - I think it is the last 90 days - and so when I finally got around to doing that, there were no order details found, but it did give me the name and contact information for my sales representative.

So, you certainly could contact your sales representative that way, but my best guess is that they will not really know when your order is going to be shipped, unless something changes in the way they do things.

Now, if the promises of Vic@RS and Mike@RS in the current shipping status #4 thread, that they would soon be posting order information for Allied USA customers, and that a revised shipping schedule will be posted this week (hmmm, only a few hours left for that to happen unless they work weekends), then maybe we may get some useful information soon that way.

Anyhow, it would help the rest of us in the queue for Allied's USA site if you could please post your order number as I did mine, and what you were told about estimated shipping time at the time you placed your order, and repeated the order date to orient folks who miss your original post.
