Hi.

I've just noticed when trying to run a backup I can no longer connect to my Nas with the exact same file that worked perfectly before the last kernel update.

Is there any documentation on what's hickuped?

Just a guess: your Nas is cifs and you have not specified the version number when mounting the drive.

Many thanks. Many of the versions of the command that worked for that OP didn't work for me at all, but ONE DID! Woohoo!

This seems to be a problem for a lot of people, and many people find different solutions for the same problem, sometimes even the same drives. This shouldn't really be happening. If this was the case with usb sticks there would be riots!!

Anyway, thank you. On to the next problem..... :o)

The problem is that they recently found some big "security" problem with Samba.

Implementing the "fix" basically broke most existing Samba setups (requiring everybody to put in vers=1.0 on the command line, thereby negating the "fix").

Such is life...
