Raspberry Pi vs MK802 benchmark comparison

Awesome video comparing Raspberry Pi vs MK802 device. In some tests Raspberry Pi is faster but in most CPU (like video encoding) intensive tasks MK802 is up to 5 times faster!

But conversion from wav to speex codec is faster on Raspberry Pi!

That video is old. There have been one or two updates that made the RPi faster since.

The official line is that the Pi's SOC is 95% GPU & 5% CPU. It's pretty puny as CPUs go.
Don't judge Linux by the Pi.......

And who on Earth wants to convert video on a Pi, seriously? :)

Actually, using the encoder/decoder on the GPU you could transcode SD video in real time (or very close). Not HD (720p, 1080p), there's not the processing bandwidth. The Pi can encode at 1080p30 but not transcode.

I didn't watch the video, but if he just did a CPU speed comparison, then the MK would be faster - it has a faster CPU! Not particularly surprising. The GPU on the MK is slower however.
