New homepage - nice job!

Thu Jul 19, 2018 7:49 pm

Just a quick message to say well done on the new homepage - it's a big improvement on the old one! It's really eye-catching, easy to read and has all of the essential information "above the fold" as they say. I'm surprised to see nobody else seems to have commented thus far, at least that I can see, on these forums. It looks really good - keep up the good work folks! :D

Comments have been made, though not positively like yours, I tend to agree with the comments in this thread...

Theres nothing to praise about it. Functionality is more important than visual presentation and since this change, it no longer functions at all on my preferred browser. Clicking anything takes me to all sorts of weird places I wasn't intending yo go to.

Essentially, its broken now. Why would anyone praise that?

Imperf3kt,

I'm curious, what is that preferred browser of yours?

Is it something anyone else uses?

Its a version of chromium without all the annoying bells and whistles of other browsers.

Personally preferred website as was...

...but it is what it is and just have to get used to this change.

I have a large screen Android Smart Phone and do agree that a better implementation could of been achieved in Chrome Browser, whether in Mobile or Desktop Mode.

I like the site on my desktop computer, looks in keeping with the way other school education websites have gone, everything is there as needed. Wowified too.
On the mobile however the landing screen of "buy one" hides everything and you need to scroll down, so the blogs/news is hidden away
and I still don't like the hidden 'menu' that nobody I help thinks of clicking on and I have to instruct them to.

However the codeclub style education section, if they happen to scroll down, is much clearer. As is seeing the 3 clubs etc.
That's done very nicely.

All those "Buy for business" links go to the same place as "Buy", which is just confusing.

I like the projects section, particularly if you choose "browse all projects" you get a nice menu to filter by topic / hardware /software

Nice to see blender in software...
