CPU info for Raspberry Pi 3 B+ shows "ARM 7" !!

Thu May 24, 2018 9:35 am

I have got a brand new kit of Raspberry Pi 3 B+ which has "SoC : BCM2837" (from the pinout command)
"The underlying architecture of the BCM2837 is identical to the BCM2836. The only significant difference is the replacement of the ARMv7 quad core cluster with a quad-core ARM Cortex A53 (ARMv8) cluster."

But the "cpuinfo" command gives this output (ARMv7):

pi@raspberrypi:~ $ uname -a
Linux raspberrypi 4.14.34-v7+ #1110 SMP Mon Apr 16 15:18:51 BST 2018 armv7l GNU/Linux
pi@raspberrypi:~ $ cat /proc/cpuinfo
processor : 0
model name : ARMv7 Processor rev 4 (v7l)
BogoMIPS : 38.40

1. Could someone please tell me why this discrepancy ?
2. How do I enable KVM on the Raspbian installed ?
