Mirror site does not work, mirrors.opencas.cn

Wed May 23, 2018 3:12 am

Hi
How does mirror sites work? Who decides if I am re-routed to one or not?

mirrors.opencas.cn does not work and because of this most apt-get things from China does not work.

How can I avoid getting to it? (without using VPN because 1:don't have, 2:illegal to use)

Is there anyway to force apt-get to use the official raspberry foundation sites only?

Who should I contact to get mirrors.opencas.cn removed from getting used?

This is a snag that makes Raspi really hard to use in China.

There is a similar previous discussion, with a possible solution, here: viewtopic.php?f=63&t=212935#p1312416

Sorry I had totally missed that post but.....

This is a IPv6 problem. I have talked to the engineers at Opencas and they have setup their server to only use IPv6. I am now investigating why my ISP have not activated IPv6 because I can't access any server using IPv6. Am I surprised? Naaaaaaaah :)

After "world championship" in editing .list file I finally have all files in my RasPi. It would be so much easier if all mirrors actually were complete mirrors and not only had parts of the needed packages. I guess we will see what my ISP have to say about this.
