Open Source hardware?

Hi,

the description page about the compute module states that there is an "open-source breakout board" available - but only with the link to the hardware itself. So my question: where are the production/hardware data of this breakout-board available?

Thanks!

A link to the information you are referencing would help!

Yes, but it is not obvious that those include details of the breakout board.

The SoC of the Raspberry Pi & Compute Module are not Open Source..

Though there is ample documentation to design your own Carrier Board for the Compute Module...

Correction: maybe it does - look at the IO boards. The "breakout board" is described as Compute Module IO Board V3.

I don't know what could be more clear. It says. right there in the page I linked to, in big friendly letters:

CMIO and CMCDA design files
Design data for Compute Module IO and camera/display adapter boards

What made it not clear is that the infirmation calls it a breakout board instead of an IO board.

What is the difference of that CM IO Board to this less than half price CM IO board?
Has two camera and two display connectors as well ...

I cannot find a reference to "open source breakout board" except on this thread. Can the OP point me in the direction of the misleading information?

See post 3, it's a verbatim quote from the second paragraph in the reference provided - but conveniently there is a link to the item in question a few words later! There seems to be no mystery other than the nomenclature.

Ah, when I searched I didn't have the hyphen in open-source.

Looking at the page, I'm happy with it since there is a link to the actual board in question in the same sentence.
