Hello, I tried to search in the forum but didn't find a simple printable paper case for raspberry pi. Here is my first attempt with inkscape, of course holes and closing system a still needed, but the dimensions should be fine. I'll post updates if someone is interested, here is the link to the SVG file if someone wants to contibute : http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3042900/raspber ... ercase.svg

Looks good, I've an Arduino Uno that was supplied in a card box that was similar and had dotted areas to cut out for the USB and power sockets.  A tab and slot arrangement on the lid should keep the top closed adequately.
I'm just a bouncer, splatterers do it with more force.....

Maeur1 posted a nice paper case in "cases for the raspberry pi"

He posted the design a page later http://www.raspberrypi.org/for.....age-14#268

---edit---

On page 23 some one else mentioned making a paper case

Hi guys;

I have an idea to do something like this for the Marks and Spencer mint tin installation (Altoid tin if you"re American).  I plan to make a PDF you can download and print out – cut parts of it out and wrap it around your tin.  You then just use your dremel set to cut out the hatched areas – file/smooth down the edges and the Pi should slot straight in.

That's the theory anyway!

I thought the Altoids tin was too short? (20mm or 3/4 inch high) I'm hoping that I'm wrong on this, though, because that was also my first choice of a case.
I sometimes ride my Pi to the Forum.

Just made a quick card mock-up of this case.

Sitting here looking at it, and the packet of fags next to it, and suddenly realise that a superkings fag packet is exactly the right size in all dimesnsions except length which is a little long.

Good starting point if you want a card case.

For those that don't know/aren't aware.
Fags = Cigarettes in the above post.

Anyway that actually sounds like a nifty idea. Granted i wouldn't want to buy a pack of smokes just for a case, but maybe model a cardstock case after one since it even has a convenient flip-out hatch so you can extract the board.

8 + 7 = 15

Yes having an actual production board to handle will improve this greatly.

While i feel printer paper will be too insubstantial, there anything you could have this printed on at, say, fedex/kinkos/staples/wherever that would be more substantial?

3 + 3 = 6

You may want to just use the printout to use as a pattern to mark and cut more substantial material then glue it on if you want the graphic.

?? 9 = 3  ;-)
