Is the Bluetooth on RPI a Receiver only or a Receiver/Transmitter?

Receive and transmit, just like the ZeroW is.
I have a ZeroW playing music to bluetooth speakers, for example, and a 3 that is capturing a different audio stream from a mobile phone.

Bluetooth, by definition, supports both transmit and receive capabilities.
