Air quality sensor project

Hi all

We have a house with people who are allergic to primarily dust, so I thought I would build something that could measure this.
I have a looked for a couple of hours for existing projects to cover this, but have come up short. The closests was the AirPi, which does not exist anymore.

So this is what I would like to build:
Measurement of dust, temp, humidity - I assume I need separate sensors
I need to find a way to show in a graph - either on builtin webserver or a free cloud service with an API

Can you help with:
1) What sensors to use?
2) How to connect them to my RPI
3) Code to connect using Python?
4) Which tool you would suggest to show the graphs.

I have done a few projects before, but have based all on access to code examples and physical connection diagrams like Fritzing.

Much appreciated!

Hi Jonathan,

did you take a look at my project site ?

I am using a PLANTOWER PMS7003 sensor to monitor particular matter (dust),
a BME280 I2C-sensor modul to measure temperature and humidity.

Optionally you can monitor volatile organic compounds (VOCs) simple and effective with an ADS1015 ADC and the Figaro TGS2600.

All measurements for each sensor are shown separately in a graph on builtin webserver.

Nice project you have there :)

I think I am looking for something simpler (if possible). I have come accross the Grove system, which offers a very modular setup with a HAT where sensor modules can connect:

It makes coding and connections much simpler :)

So, I guess my quesions would be if it works?

And I found what seems to be a place to upload data and work with it :

And here are examples on how to use use with code : ... pberry-pi/

Or use Plotly: ... pberry-Pi/
