trouble installing lightshowpi

hi all
i have managed to download lightshowpi on lightshow.org suing git and zip which downloaded ok but would not install as it came up with message which was to quick to see but went into the install.log and it says that there is a problem with ffmpeg.

any ideas

I have managed to install lightshowpi but just wondering how open the program so I can do some coding

Have you followed the 'Configure and Test' documentation?

Since this is a very specialised software application maybe you would get better informed support from their own support forum which seems to be hosted on Google Plus?

I have tested the hardware using the link and that worked fine
I have posted a message on the lightshowpi page on Google plus with no response yet

I have put some music in the music folder in lightshowpi and followed the instructions to get the music to play and nothing happened

Have you tested your setup as described here:

Did the "deck the halls" sample play?

If not:
Did the lightshow part of that script run as described?
Does that sample MP3 exist in the location specified?

I have managed to get the sound to play and lights flash to the examples now I have to work out how to get all 16 channels working and add my own music which is easy enough but have to convert them to mp3 as iTunes converts them to mp4
