Piserver: cannot install applications on clients

Hello,

I have been experimenting with Piserver today, I'd love to be able to run my many Pis without worry that an SD card will break, I'd also like to be able to backup my Pis without needing to manually image the cards.
I got Piserver working today, booting Raspian from an x86 server, Worked like a charm, I'm pretty happy. I'd go out now and buy a 3 b+ for the extra LAN speed.
I find however I cannot install any applications on the client, sudo apt-get .... tells me that my password is incorrect (tried my user password and raspberry).
Also, within the GUI the software installer shows no available programs. Am I doing something incorrectly or is this a limitation of piserver?

On the Pi Server there is a menu option to start a 'chroot' into the client filesystem where you can install stuff, update the system. etc.

Thanks, don't see chroot anywhere, do you mean Shell on the Software page?

Yes. 'chroot' is what it does.
