Do you want to use two PCF8754 (LCD backpack) chips (which needs a hardware tweak on one) or a single MCP23017 (which should work[1])?

[1] Sorry, but I can't test it this week as I'm not prepared to risk the cavity search or time in Gitmo by taking a breadboard, lots of Dupont wires and two LCDs (which will look like a b*mb controller) to America with me.
