One happy chappy

After some harassment with RS I got my kit from Maplin.
I have an old large screen CRT very nice old TV, it has analogue input so the PI would drive it.
I also have a big Ubuntu server with all my vids on a 1T USB drive.
Many are in Humax TS format.
So I wanted to stream them to my PI/TV.
I used Mediatomb on Ubuntu and with a suitable config.xml it would transcode them to the high definition format that PI would play.
Transcoding has problems with Fast Forward etc.
So a better solution is to purchase the additional codecs for the PI ( £4.00 approx ).
Then FF seems better and you can drag the play bar as required.
I also installed BBC IPlayer and 5 on demand etc.
After some fiddling I got the WiFi to work, I was considering drilling through the wall and running a hard wired cable. On WiFi I find things generally work OK. Occasionally a vid will pause or go blurrry for a second but it's not often (fingers crossed)
So as the posts title I am a "Happy Chappy".
Took a fair bit of fiddling though !!
Thanks
Jim
