phone calls

Hello everyone, so i'm trying to build a smart doorbell for my house when someone press the button i get a call on my phone so i can talk to who's at the door and i was wondering if it is possible to make calls to my phone over the internet using the raspberry pi and if yes how can i do it .

Should be possible. The "term of art" you want to search on is "VOIP" (Voice Over Internet Protocol). It's how the combined Internet/TV/Phone packages work. It's also how thing like Skype and Zoom operate.

You seem super-lazy to me unless it a business idea for you.

I mean why just you can't place a CCTV camera on the door and put a monitor inside your room. You will be able to see who's there.

Anyway, the yours second question doesn't seem fair to me. You know this technology is already there.

It's called VoIP [Voice Over Internet Protocol] and best example of this is WhatsApp app in your smartphone itself.

I think the idea is that the Pi doorbell will allow a person to talk to the visitor even when they are not at home.
