Seriously, I have all the boards on 'My Ebay' (no, I'm not bidding) and follow the scores with interest (I don't have a life).  It's great for the project, both in terms of the money and the publicity.

Given that the forum now has 6000+ members (and going up dozens each day) is a run of 10k boards going to be enough? How soon can you get the next batch out (assuming the first quota are released at the end of the month?) How will you manage multiple orders?

Next batch can follow very quickly if demand is there. Not sure about multiple orders - that would be the responsibility of the fulfillment house.

Lol, I live in the lovely town of Colorado Springs, Colorado. USA.  If you are ever in the area you are welcome to stop by for some food, and next time I'm hanging out in the UK or Whales I will give you guys a heads up to stay off the sidewalks cause there will be an American driving on the wrong side of the road.

The £2100 & £2000 bids on board #10 were retracted (i didn't even knew this is possible on eBay). Bunch'a'losers.

The interest for these early board is awesome.  Maybe there is some more of these boards around to satisfy all those willing to donate to the foundation.  I'm glad there are people out there who have the means to help in a financial way.  The words "idiots" and "stupid" do not come to mind when reflecting on their contribution, but "blessed" would be more suitable.

#1 is at 3300 GBP that is a nice $5088 USD.  Crazy money there.  Good to see something postive.

Bidding up for a collector's item is not really my cup of tea - but if others want to do it, fine.  I just prefer to spend that kind of money on something a bit bigger and more powerful.

Now if there were a stack of good sandwiches and a cute redhead involved, then I could possibly be tempted...

Action on ebay hotting up. Another £3807 tonight. And £5500 already bidt for tomorrow.

Thats over £16000 for the foundation (minus fees i guess).

the good new is that there shouldnt be ANY ebay fees due to 100% going to charity. not sure about paypal tho. and £16000 should pay for around 1000 to be given away due to no vat cost as its a gift. may be 600-700 with a 16gb class 10 sd card and key board and mice inc

I am very happy these eBay auctions have been such a success for the Foundation. Speaking as someone who still owns an almost fully working Sinclair ZX80 (it won't load anything but you can still write and run programs) and who at one time wrote assembly language programs which ran under MS-DOS (where you had complete control of the computer), I believe this is an incredibly worthwhile cause to try and reintroduce the art of programming. I hope the money raised from these auctions gives the Foundation a real boost for 2012.
