It does seem that the price at Farnell went higher since the memory upgrade, anyone noticed it? I thought the new revision would be selling at or near the official price of $35. RS does but Farnell doesn't. For my regional page (Czech) it shows as $42.43 per board, that is without VAT and without shipping cost. That's 20% higher than it should be, how come?

My guess would be the "Exchange Rate". The difference between your currency and the UK pound. If that does not explain it, then you need to contact Farnell. There have been problems with the price here and there. Most have been cleared up after there is an inquiry.

Interesting....

Farnell Switzerland increased the price again for the 512MB board this morning for business customers...for residential customers it stays the same as before...

Other countries experience the same?

I saw that the UK farnell did this as well as soon as the 512mb was released. I don't know much more than that.

The price *should* be the same for business and residential. And it should be $35 plus taxes and postage. Which will of course depend on the exchange rate.

Just looked up the price from German Farnell shop...

And for Germans the price stayed the same over the weekend... EUR 29.03 according to some forum entries from last week here...

Got feedback from Farnell Switzerland today...

They stick to the 11% higher price, whereas in Germany it is still much lower and the same as before...

Good news :-)

After they forwarded by complain to the management, suddenly today the price is again as before for Switzerland :-)

I have just received my two Pi's from RS - both labelled 'Made in China'.

Which would be normal since all of the boards made by RS are made in China.

Well, that doesn't seem to be the case for all new RaspberryPi's... Mine is also a Rev 2.0 (with the two extra mounting holes, 512MB and header P5 at the back of the PCB, which are typical properties for the new 512MB). But it's still mentioned "Made in China"...

Its an old thread, the very first Rev2 512s all came from the UK. The intention is that they will all be made in the UK eventually, but until then a substantial number are still made in China. Look at the post above yours...
