Raspberry pi 2 Bluetooth

Tue Nov 21, 2017 6:52 pm

I have an older raspberry Pi 2. I am thinking about adding a Bluetooth usb dongle for Bluetooth communication. So my question is will the Jessie OS recognize the USB Bluetooth dongle as plug and play or would I need to install additional software?

It depends on the dongle. The Pi should recognise most of them without any changes.

is what I use on my RPi2B1. It works with Raspbian with no special configuration needed.

Spend about $10 and get a brand name (4.x) dongle. The super-cheap Asian knock-offs can be problematic.
