Conversion of XPT2046 touchscreen pinouts

Tue Sep 26, 2017 4:45 pm

Good evening all.

I'm new so please, please be gentle.

Ive acquired a couple of new XPT2046 Touch Controller displays.

My question is, can the standard GPIO pinouts be adapted to the (I apologise for my ignorance here), flat cable connector style to use the screen port on the Pi 3?

With the right instruction I can create, or with the right pointer I can buy.

Thank you all, in advance.

You will have to provide a little more info about the screens for people to be able to help you well.

The XPT2046 is the chip that reads the touch film over the face of the screen and has nothing to do with what type of screen it is. The XPT2046 chip can only comunicate with the RPi via SPI. I also make an assumption that the screen si probably a SPI screen too as this is what these XPT2046 chip r usually put on.

The ribbon cable for a screen is a DSI interface, I am not aware of any SPI to DSI coverters
