Newark's website is acting up today, I'm getting a lot of gateway timeout errors, been trying to place an order for about an hour now.

UPDATE: Finally got the order placed, here is the page for the new version:

I was able to place an order. I got the Starter Kit. It did take a while to process.

I got a phone call today from Newark/element 14 to ask how the ordering process went, asked me if I had any questions, and let me know I'd get the upgraded RAM when my Pi ships. I was a bit shocked since most companies these days don't bother to call their customers to actually talk to them.

For an inexpensive part I'm not surprised. As soon as I got the email that announced them and I clicked on the link and it showed they had 100 units ready to ship, I bought one right then.

Sorry...but I'm going to nit pick you on that....

Really??? You can burn mounting holes in a Pi board with a soldering iron?
 I have to admit shortly after I wrote this that I thought about the mounting hole issue and was wondering if there had been any rerouting of some traces to do the mounting holes.
I missed this thread; and even though I am late, I must nitpick your comment also. You would need some great skill at micro-soldering to really make a revision 1.0 board into a revision 2.0. It has been done, but is not a project that even most advanced hackers have the skill or equipment to do! The 1v8 problem was also cured in the revision two board. You can make a revision 1.0 into a revision 1.1 with only moderate soldering skills and equipment, but not a 2.0!
