ways to control the pi 3 wirelessly

Sun Sep 03, 2017 12:15 pm

What is the best way to control the pi 3 wirelessly/remotely, via an android device, (or maybe other device). The distance between the pi and the device should be 20 feet (about 7 meters) or less.

WiFi. You may setup the Raspi as wireless access point, see https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentati ... s-point.md
and connect from the Android device. Once they are connected, there are many protocols for controlling like ssh login (simple) or setting up a web server on the Raspi.

Wifi works great. I have great experience with the app unified remote, costs about 4 buck something. It does work with a wifi router so I don't know if this works with setting up the pi as an acces point, though I believe it might.
