Unable to use Eclipse to write C++ code

Thu Aug 03, 2017 2:04 pm

I like to use Add/Delete Software to add Eclipse CDT to be able to write C++ code.
If I select Eclipse CDT it installs OK but there is are no options to build C++ project.
If I select Eclipse platform it adds CDT and installs them OK but still I cannot build C++ project.

In either case I can execute Eclipse 3.8 and cannot update or even install new software.
The available packages from Rasbpian repository (?) are missing supporting packages.

I cannot install current Eclipse release - Oxygen - because it is not build / ported to ARM architecture.

I have no issue with running Eclipse on RPi , its speed is OK for me.

Just a minor point, you do not need eclipse to write C++ code on the Pi!
