Most Frustrating

Tue Aug 01, 2017 9:54 pm

Ok, so sometimes it turns on and sometimes it doesn't. What's that about?
Then when it does turn on, sometimes the sound doesn't work. What's that about?
Then if it is on, and the sound is working, shows don't load, and buffer forever. What's that about?
Then, if it is on, and the sound is working, and I choose a show to watch, what actually appears is NOT what I selected - for example, episodes of TV shows are actually random movies that have been uploaded.
Lucky this was a gift and I didn't pay for it, I would be rioting.

More frustrating is that the OP hasn't followed anything like the simple rules at http://www.catb.org/esr/faqs/smart-questions.html to ask a question that's coherent.

Seems something does not work.

If we form a ring, all hold hands in the dark and concentrate really hard we might get a feeling as to what it might be.

my dark but somewhat functioning crystal ball suggests that he is using a PI with some kind of media player software, that he probably has a poor power supply, and is using illegal streaming sources, but more I do not see, it too cloudy and dark.

You might want to donate the Raspberry Pi before the ultra secret camera built in the PI starts to watch you and you start to see yourself on the TV when you click a show.

The OP,
Lucky this was a gift and I didn't pay for it, I would be rioting.
So, let me get this straight...

...the OP gets a computer for free. A very capable computer, one of the smallest, cheapest machines in it's class the world has ever seen. A machine that works very well for it's intended purpose.

And then want to start rioting because some unspecified thing does not work.

I have no sympathy.

This seems to be one of those:
I just accidentally a coca cola bottle!
As a guess, is this Kodi or similar?

If you want some help you need to tell us what you have and what you are using?
The Pi comes in a few styles and is just a bare computer.
If it does any more then gives you a black screen a Computer desktop, then it's not a standard Pi setup.

If there is a big KODI logo at the start or similar then you may need to go to their help forum. Someone can point you there if we know where is.

Other than that, ask the person who gave it to you for some help or to tell you what it is.

As sarcastic as the replies above are, they will actually help you, if they know what they are helping you with.

Thanks for the love everyone. In my defence I have never before in my life posted to a forum about tech issues. This is not my forte.
I am really sorry that my Title didn't help. I wasn't sure what to put because I seem to have many problems.
As stated in my other post, I had no idea that what I was doing was illegal.
It has the Kodi logo. The add on is Exodus.
I have no idea about the OS or what version of Pi it is. Where would I find this info?
I am sorry I can't provide these details. If someone would like to somewhat kind, rather than rude, that would be great.
