HTPC

Mon Oct 01, 2012 6:09 pm

Hi,

I really like the Idea of the Raspberry Pi, I want to know if I can use it for the following purpuses
- watching movies on an external HD
- watching youtube movies
- and browse some other websites on my tv.
- watching movies which are stored on a network location

Also I saw there is no wifi adapter in the raspberry A or B. The FAQ says it is not in the first release, does this mean there will be a next release?

Regards Bart

There are no plans to have wifi built in. It is easily enough to add it via a wifi dongle plugged into a USB port.

Though for internet surfing the Raspbian Distribution would suffice.

Thank you for your replay,
I decided to order one,
I know I can add an usb dongle for wifi, But I prefer everything as small as possible without extra cables or something. but it was just something I was curious about.

A WiFi USB Dongle is quite small.
