Uh... Guys, I just read the FAQ and wanted to check my order number to find out when I'll get my pi.
And you know what: I don't have one!
In the email titled "Order Confirmation - 123xxx" It says
Order placed by xxxxxxxxxx
Contact tel xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Contact e-mail xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Date of order Fri, 29 Jun 2012, 01:24 PM
Your order number <NOTHING HERE>
Method of Payment PayPal
Delivery Type Desc Standard Delivery (Despatch expected within 11 week(s))
The f+*? I actually went through all RS mails like five times cause I was just looking for some long number, so I didn't see it the first times.

The six-digit number in the email title should be the order number.

Code: Select all

Shipping Between: Order Number:
24th – 30th September 1010109000
Still nothing. Perhaps we will see a revised schedule again?

RS pushed my order back a week... for the second time.

I am extremely close to cancelling my order as well. I've already waited over 3 months, which is why I'm reluctant to cancel.

Send an email to raspberrypi@rswww.com from the address you used in the order and ask them to check it out. It may take a few days for them to respond to your mail as they did with me but its your best hope.

I'm starting to think I've been lied to, by RS, I had an email on Thursday 27th September from RS saying order, from 20 June 82***, dispatched.
I've had no other email, from DHL, giving tracking information.

Has it been dispatched or NOT - as usual no response from emails to RS

Ok,

RS has a problem.

Thanks for giving us feedback at times.

I'll have to wait in South Africa till mid November :(

But guys, we have the right to complain about failed promises, but please don't get abusive!

I beleive RS is trying to recover from a bad situation the best they can :)

I cancelled order with RS on the 10.09.2012(then ordered from Farnell and had my RPi next day...). After 21 days of waiting for my money back I sent them email yesterday...still waiting for the answer. I thought they have a team checking that special email address....

I'm confused on the "last order shipped" on the RS FAQ. They've all got trailing 000's and even without them, the order #s are still way too long.

Edit: wierd, I refreshed the page and it looks like it had duplicated the order numbers, i'm ok now

So, if my order number is in the 100xxx range, when can I expect a ship notice or delivery? None as yet. In fact nothing from RS since I placed my order June 22nd.
And if anyone can help with another question; Where on the company website can you place an inquiry? The only active page relevant seems to be raspberrypi.rsdeliveries.com - Looks like many others in the same situation.

Cancelled my order Monday night, originally ordered on the 26th June.

The whole RS ordering malarky has just been one hell of a farce to be fair, and given other supplies have much shorter lead times (some even same day dispatch), just makes even less sense, and less credibility on the excuses used...

I'll be chasing up my refund though...

I ordered June 22, 2012 and still have not received my pi yet. #98xxx
I emailed September 24 and received a reply September 25 and it reads like this.

"Good Afternoon

Apologies for your frustrations with the despatches of your Raspberry Pi order. We encountered a problem at the depot during the dispatch of your order. Unfortunately we did not discover the mistake in time and are now awaiting our latest batch of Raspberry Pi boards to arrive here at RS in order that we can despatch your board out to you as soon as they arrive. We attempted to contact those affected to explain the situation, so apologies if you did not receive any communication from us. We are expecting to dispatch your Pi on Thursday when we get the stock into our warehouse. We sincerely apologise for the delay and any inconvenience caused

Thank you for your patience,

Raspberry Pi Team"

Please keep posts civil. Any posts that are regarded by the moderators as insulting (to RS, other posters, the Foundation) will be removed/edited

Yes, I know people are annoyed with the way things are turning out with RS, it's very frustrating for everyone, including the Foundation, but please do not vent your spleen here - remember the Foundation has a contract with RS.

Wuh? The reasons why RS are taking so long has been explained thoroughly, and makes complete sense. Doesn't make it a good situation, but it has been explained.

Is anyone getting their delivery without e-mailing and complaining? Hard to tell from what I am seeing posted here.

jamesh, I did not see an explanation posted for the delay from RS. Can you re-post or direct to that info?

Thanks

I too placed my order (and was charged) in June. I saw on another thread that NewIT had stock of rev B boards. Bought one, it came the next day via Royal Mail and I've just cancelled my order with RS. They have been pretty useless and I'd personally recommend anyone waiting to look for suppliers elsewhere and cancel your order once you have possession of your new Pi.

Tried to open dispute on Paypal, but transaction should be not more than 45 days old, so Paypal will only pass info to RS and will make a note in the system about seller.
