What happened to Official Broadcom WiFi Adapter w/ 2usb port

Wed Apr 12, 2017 8:43 pm

I have the Official Broadcom WiFi Adapter w/ 2usb ports.

I bought it here a few year ago : https://www.pi-supply.com/product/broad ... pberry-pi/

But I look at the Pi website and see no mention of this USB Wifi dongle anymore.

I know it still works but was there a problem with it? Should I be considering to get the edimax now?
Was the power consumption too high? Why was it removed?

Not sure, perhaps because the latest Pi models have Wireless built in it was no longer sustainable. I'll ask tomorrow.

I don't believe there is anything inherently amiss with it.

Thanks. Keep me posted. Because even the blog posts about this was removed along with all purchasing pages.

The only Wifi Dongle that I see that's official now is this one:

I'm also assuming this is the exact same item just without the 2 USB ports.
