Hello, I am decided whether or not to get a raspberry pi, or an Android 4.0 Mini PC. I am liking the speed of the Android 4.0 Mini PC but liking that I can use cheap small screens for the Pi. The main task that I am going to use this for is text editing, but I would like to be able to bring it into school to edit text, because the computers at our school are quite slow, and old. So it would be easier if I just carried around a mini PC, with maybe a roll-up rubber keyboard and use that, instead of an old dinasour that takes 10 min to print a picture. Would love to hear what you guys have to say!
What screens do you suggest for the Pi, and for the Android 4.0 Mini PC. And what do you think I should do to power them both, for lets say 5-6 hours?

This is the current screen I am looking at: http://www.amazon.com/3-5-Inch-TFT-Moni ... B0045IIZKU

I have a similar screen from ebay/hongkong. Mine's 4.3 inches. It's supposedly 480x272 (they claim 1440x272 by counting three RGB dots as separate pixels!).
It certainly works as an AV screen, and you can send 640x480 at it, for example. I tried setting various lower and lower resolutions at it, trying to optimise how letters look for readability. There is NO WAY to get that pixel sharpness of letters you can see on an Android phone or iPhone. For text editing? No.
Conclusion: Great as an auxiliary screen, showing something's there while I really operate headless on VNC to my PC. Also great as a toy/demo mode, eg by setting very large print and using that as an output prompter for a game or interfacing demonstration, or a demo data logger, etc.
But it could never serve as a "real" working screen for login and running your programs. The letters just are not readable. I suppose you could set resolution to 320x... or something even less than that to get bigger letters, and put up with very short screen lines. Only for terminal mode, of course. That could never be useful for startx mode - the windows would be many times the size of the screen - even 640x480 is frequently an issue.
So would I give my mini screen away? NO - it's too much fun.
