hi fellow Bay Area RPi enthusiasts

Anyone interested in pooling in so we can place a big order of Pi (say, a dozen RPis Model B)??? That we can all get our Pi's and save some serious shipping $$$. I can't stand $10 shipping for a $35 item. (Dont think they make any profit there, just the way it is). And MCM offers Free Shipping for $199 orders.

Initial I thought I'd just come by the meet-up at Stanford (I work closeby) to get one but heard their onsite availability is severely limited. I dont like my chance there

Anyway, let me know. If there're enough interests, I can spot up and place an order this weekend. Just yes/no and how many. No paying upfront. I trust u guys. In the worst case, I think I can still craiglist the excess

I just ordered from Newark and it was free shipping. exactly $35 to my door.

it seems MCM has finally got Model B Rev. 2 512MB. Yay!

I'll put in a bulk order soon. Probably on 10/18. If you'd like to pool in, drop me a note. I think they offer free shipping for $199 order, about $10 otherwise to Calif.

@peter: alright...I marked your interest as potential and will add to my order. I work close to stanford but live in the east bay (fremont). If u find a ride later and pick up, it's good. If not, no worries...

A recent e-mail from MC said they now have free shipping on orders of $100 (I don't recall how long that will be true, though), so ordering 3 Pis would mean no shipping charges.

Element14 had a similar deal, free shipping over $100. But when I applied the coupon (bought 3 512MB) it still charged me shipping. I guess the coupon does not apply to RasPii.

I'm happy for now. Got all our sweet Pies yesterday! Was able to place an order > $200. Thanks guys for making it happen.

The toys were picked up almost immediately. Their owners are busy now I guess

btw, someone couldn't pick up and asked me to mail a Pi over. I paid $2.12! So certainly shipping can be done for <$5 in the US. Just FYI

If you ever do a bulk order again, I'd gladly pay you $5 S&H.
