You don't. It would break threads you commented on. You can just quit using it, though. You can even create a different account if you feel that you need a "reset" to start over.

I'm curious.

Why do you want to delete your account?

I was looking forward to your cross-platform IDE that will work work any language /compiler/interpreter, produce code for any target architecture and translate any language to any other.

You can effectively delete the account by going to the User Control Panel, changing your password to something that you won't remember, and then changing the recovery email to an invalid email address that you do not have access to. Log out, delete all cookies and then you won't be able to log back in, recover the password or post under that nym anymore. Then just delete the URL from your browser and the account is done.

Just ask the moderators. They can disasble your account and remove any personal details, but it will still leave all your previous activity behind.

We don't delete accounts because that means the username becomes available to someone else and that could cause problems. It also mean any posts would have not parents. Just stop using the account and it will face in to obscurity.

You have two accounts
321 (BT Buisiness line?) and 321a (TalkTalk line?)
Are you just wanting to have one account or no accounts?

321 I think may have been banned?

Yes, 321 was banned. Our suspicion is that 321a may well be the same person....because the threads are basically going the same way. I also suspect that deleting the account may become unnecessary.

It is, he created a new account as the old one wasn't working. He did say ...
You may have missed it in the PINN thread.

I don't know a out banning (i don't know what happened to '321' as it is all deleted). But a timeout maybe, we used to use them on our forum BitD. Would work quite well (an old mauisun forum), it's also implemented on our retro mtb forum, or at least was.

Unfortunately somethings are just inherent to a persons nature no matter how abhorrent it is. Banning was the right call IMO and any timeouts would have given easier ability (and perhaps seen as permission) to raise such views in the future.

Like I said i don't know the views as they are deleted, so cannot comment. The mods know what RPF want on here :-)
I was talking from what I can see written.
Banning just means logging in as other users once the IP resets.

I think banning can easily be worked around with a new account. An IP ban is a bit dodgy because there can be a lot of people behind one IP and you could end up banning them all, and any way there are a lot of different way to get on the net available these days.

If somebody has personal information in their profile and private messages then nobody has any business retaining that information if they don't have a valid use for it in the course of conducting their business.

We do use IP banning for spammers, not necessarily for cockwombles.

We also have the option for temporary or perma bans. Some of the high numbers posters on here have had temp bans! It pays not to get too comfortable!
